Residential Edition: Pathways & Verandahs

Your home’s pathway, verandah and stairs are the first point of entry that leads you into your home. These areas set the tone and announce your arrival, so how they are presented is very important.

For Federation or Victorian period homes, these spaces are usually dressed and finished in tessellated tiles. Whether you’re replacing existing tessellated tiles or looking to incorporate them into your home, the transformation that occurs is beautiful, valuable and permanent.

Every project is unique. The pattern, the border, the shapes and the colours. The combinations and results are endless. TTF has selected a few standout transformations that left us inspired – we know it will leave the same impression on you.

  • Glasgow Tessellated Design
  • Decorative Norwood Border

Tessellated tile designs are available in a wide range of patterns. Knowing which pattern is the right one for your home is where our expertise comes into play. A gorgeous entrance will make an unforgettable first impression, so it’s important that the finishes you select complement your personal style as well as the period of your home.

Located in Stanmore, in the heart of the inner west, TTF was engaged to adorn the verandah of this terrace house with a tessellated design that would leave that lasting impression. The pattern selected is the stunning “Glasgow” in a colour palette of white, grey and black. The incorporation of decorative encaustic feature tiles adds a level of intricacy, completing the look and style of this home. Building details such as the black lacework balustrade and black step treads connects perfectly with the Glasgow tessellated floor.

  • Ashfield Tessellated Design
  • Balmain Border

This project in Haberfield required tessellated tiling installed on an S-bend pathway leading up to the entrance of the home. Selecting the appropriate pattern for an S-bend pathway is critical to ensure the geometry of the pattern isn’t compromised.

Laying tessellated tiles requires craftsmanship and a deep understanding of geometric floor designs. TTF leads the industry in the installation of these tiles, and projects like this one are a testament to our craftsmanship and artisan skill.
