Verandah
in Toorak Gardens

Sited on over 1,200sqm of land in Toorak Gardens, this American Tudor home has a commanding street presence. Glazed bricks, stone cladding and a formal front garden are the backdrop to this beautiful tessellated verandah.

This expansive 50m2 verandah is skilfully defined into 5 areas, simply executed in the layout of the tessellated tiling. The control of the black and white checkerboard pattern is achieved by running a simple border at points along the verandah floor that align with the geometry of the facade.
The entry becomes the focal point within the floor, highlighted through the use of red within the checkerboard pattern along with our hand printed encaustic tiles.

Toorak Gardens

A timeless black and white checkerboard design, with a twist. The considered use of red at the entry adds another layer of colour to the floor that is unexpected, but vibrant.
